| Before the now-named Blackburn Chapel was added in the 16th century, there was a chantry or Lady chapel at the Eastern end of the 14th century South aisle. This is the damaged piscina of that chapel. There are cut-outs in the pillars where the screens for this Chapel would have fitted. A piscina is the little stone bowl with a drain out to the soil for the washings from the vessels used during the communion service. | Chantry chapel piscina 2 |
