16thC church plan 16th Century

In the 16th century the Eastern end of the South aisle was extended to make a chapel in that corner. This was slightly wider so a 'leper's window' could be made in the corner to have a view of the altar.

The tower was re-built and the Northern aisle was widened.

There have been no major structural changes since this time.

Most of the information about the church has been obtained from an excellent talk given by the Revd Paul Burbridge and the plans showing the church's historical development have been based on a sheet given out at this talk.
