| Fremington School pupils circa 1950. The pupils from left to right are: Pat Barton (Jenny/Billy Barton's daughter) Colin Barningham (Cogga). His family later lived in the school house. Neil Hinson Joan Camm (Myles Camm's sister) Dorothy Allinson (lived in the houses near Reeth Mill) Colin Hinson Myran Allinson (Dorothy's sister) Tony Attwood (lived in the house next door but one to the Smithy - the old workhouse was part of their property) Elizabeth Holland (Billy Holland, the gamekeeper's daughter - lived at "The Grange" I think) Marjorie Raine (lived in a part of the large house to the west of Draycott Hall, her family ran the nursery garden enclosed by the wall to the west of Draycott Hall) Kathleen Ball (lived in the cottages next to where they used to store the chert in Low Fremington) Mrs. Williams. Came from Deal (Kent) to teach here. She was an excellent teacher and left about 1951. Thanks to Colin Hinson for the information. |
