| Coronation celebrations in Grinton The coronation of Queen Elizabeth II was on the 2nd June 1952 and the whole country joined in the celebrations. The photograph shows the children of Grinton village in their fancy dress. From left to right the children are: June Holland ?, unknown, Neil Hinson, Colin Hinson, unknown, June Alderson, Elizabeth Holland, Pat Barton, Mary Alderson, unknown. June, Mary and Bernard (my age) all went to Fremington School - don't know why they aren't on the photos. They lived at Low Whita. Thanks to Colin Hinson for the information. |
