This window is 13th century and was probably moved from the original Nave south wall when this aisle was built.
Before the now-named Blackburn Chapel was added in the 16th century, there was a chantry or Lady chapel at the Eastern end of the 14th century South aisle. This is the damaged piscina of that chapel. There are cut-outs in the pillars where the screens for this Chapel would have fitted. A piscina is the little stone bowl with a drain out to the soil for the washings from the vessels used during the communion service.
This window is in memory of John C D Charlesworth who died 21st March 1880 and his wife Sarah who died 21st May 1915.
